STUFF YOU NEED TO KNOW OR BE DOING NOW! 

- If you have not taken the PSAT, you need to get registered for the October  2015 Administration. Mrs.Lyon can give you fee waiver information. 

 

- Explore college options and narrow your choices to 3-4 schools that interest you.  If you need help, go to College Majors 101 or the Riley Guide of Careers.     Mrs. Lyon also has some career interest surveys if you would like to complete them with her help.

 

- Start volunteering and participating - this helps on scholarship applications next year!  Plus it's a great way to get involved.

 

- Get your resume together.  We are having a GEAR Up resume workshop during 3rd period on April 16th!  Don't Miss It!

 

- Start applying for colleges - Go to Apply Texas, most colleges use this.  

 

 - Start thinking of who could write you letter of recommendations for scholarship applications.  You will need these your senior year.   Make contact and stay connected with these folks!

 

 - Register with Mrs. Lyon to take the TSI-A or learn if you are exempt.  Testing is scheduled for April 24, 2015 and another date will be offered in the Fall 2015.

 

-  We are planning college campus tours - and will keep you posted.  If you want to take an excused absence and visit a college campus on your own -please speak with Mrs. Lyon.

 

 - We will be having meetings to go over Senior Schedules before June 1.
